It's true his dad seemed busy a lot but he always made time for Nick when he was younger. He had grown distant and Nick could never get him to spend any time with him. After his change, his father now known as Cassius, became a psychotic killer. He fears his father more than anything, and knows he will stop at nothing to finish what he started. Nick knows that his father is dead and that this demon who walks around with his dad's face, is no longer his father. But he stills loves his dad and he hasn't completely given up the hope his father may be saved somehow.
History
Chapter One: A Shattered Childhood
Walking in on your father after he has murdered your mother and sister would be enough to shock anyone let alone a child. Nick's innocence was completely shattered that day, he would remember the bodies of his mom and Danielle, his sister, broken and bleeding on the ground. But more than that, he would always remember that look in his father's eyes as he turned to look at his son. Crimson eyes. He would never forget those eyes. They were his first indication that this creature was not the father he had once admired and loved. This demon wasn't human. Nick knew it down to his core, even though at the time he had no idea what an Incubus was. He should have died that day, but he was saved by none other than their family cat, when he saw this demon pick up the cat and hold it up high in the air like a child, Nick's frozen by fear body suddenly moved on it's own accord as he escaped quickly out the door and ran as fast as he could from that place.
He ended up at a police station, where they assured him they would take care of everything, and it was all going to be okay. He knew this was a lie. Nothing was ever going to be okay again.
Nick was sent to an orphanage and he stayed there for about a month, before he started to get the eerie feeling he was being watched all the time. He felt that his father was still out there, looking for him.

It started with just him reading books to try and escape from his reality to some fantasy world until one day one of the men who worked at the orphanage showed Nick a special section of books. After providing some information on his father and what he had seen, the man called his father a word Nick had never heard before. Incubus. He then gave Nick a book of ancient myths and legends that gave folklore and tales of the Incubi. Nick was surprised and fascinated. Also, scared. The things this book talked about Incubi doing, was enough to have Nick running in terror again. He knew this place would never be safe from someone like his father, he would find Nick again and probably kill anyone who got in the way too. That's when Nick decided to runaway and leave the orphanage, but not before finding out one more crucial piece of information. Werewolves. They were said to be the natural enemy of the Incubi. The only enemy capable of destroying one. But they also blended in with humanity, how would he find them?
Nick had terrible nightmares that were getting worse. He felt like something horrible was about to happen again, and he took off in the middle of the night. The uneasy feeling he had turned out to be his father stalking him to the orphanage and finding the boy gone he began to track him. He caught up with him in a shabby inn that Nick stopped at to find some food. Nick saw the Incubus and ran out of the inn into the alley, foolish of course, but he was scared to death. There was no escaping him. He appeared in front of Nick, his Incubus father, with a look of triumph he grinned manically. Then he told Nick his name was Cassius now. That would have been the end of Nick Erickson if not for a mysterious man who saved him at the last second. One moment he was staring down Cassius and the next he was in some little hole in the wall with a strange man. The mysterious man had a strange, otherworldly aura that Nick couldn't quite place. He somehow knew without a doubt the man would not harm him. The man only told him he knew the Incubi and that Nick should go seek out the werewolves, and that it was known in certain circles that they were taking up residence in a small town called Baskerville.
